3 Months Old...already!

Well, you're 3 months old now! It's so hard to believe that it's already been that long. You are getting so big and changing more and more every day. You are smiling all the time now and it's so adorable. You are definitely a morning person...you wake up laughing and smiling almost every morning. One of my favorite things is when your little face lights up when you see Daddy unexpectedly. Like when we go visit him at the firestation or when he comes home in the morning from work. It's like you get so excited and tickled that he is there when you didn't think he was. He loves it too which makes it even cuter. You are definitely a daddy's boy a lot of the time. You do really like for me to put you to bed at night though.

We've all been kinda sick the last few weeks since you brought home a cold from daycare. So your 3 month birthday wasn't very fun for you. We spent it at your Mimi and Pop's house because Daddy's cousin Eric was leaving for military boot camp the next day and we had a cookout for him. But you weren't interested in playing with anyone. You were sick, tired, and cranky. Poor little guy! But you are doing much better now. And so are Mommy and Daddy! Since you were sick, we took you to the doctor on Monday, so we got to find out that you weigh 15 lbs, 6 ozs. You are getting so big!

Drew, you are the most amazing thing that has every happened to me and Daddy. We are so proud to be your parents and can't wait to teach you all kinds of fun things. We look forward to every single day just because we get to hang out with you. We love you so much, son!

First week of daycare

Well, the first week of daycare and going back to work are complete. And I have to say, not nearly as traumatic as Mommy expected. Every time we have gone to pick you up at daycare you have been playing and happy. So that has made us so happy. You always smile when we get home and want to play with us and that makes it so fun. And since you are such a morning person, it has really made me in a much better mood to start my day. I always try to wake you up with at least an hour to spare before we have to leave in the morning so we can get in some playtime before you eat breakfast. You smile so much when you first wake up and you love to laugh and talk to us. I am not a morning person at all, but this makes me look forward to getting up early every morning. For those of you who really know me, you know that is a big stretch for me! I'm usually the one awake really late at night and wishing I could sleep in. This week I have found myself getting up before my alarm goes off at 5:30 because I want to be completely ready by 6:15. Crazy, I know...but I guess that's being a new parent for you. Not being with you all day really makes me look forward to our time together. Daddy and I can't wait to get you home every night and love on you. We have really been looking forward to this weekend so that we can all play for two whole days! Thank you for making this week so incredible. I never would've expected to enjoy it so much. Being back to work has been nice to. I didn't realize how much I missed everyone. Of course, I would much rather be at home playing with you all day. I love you, Drew!! ~Mommy

First day of daycare

Today was your first day of daycare at Lil' Treasures. It was a hard day for Mommy and Daddy, but as you can tell from the pictures, you weren't too upset about it. We dropped you off at 7:30 and made it all the way until 3:45. We met two of your teachers, Miss Christa and Miss Britney, but Ms. Melanie is on vacation this week. They were both very nice and you really seemed to like them. I think you liked Miss Britney the best because you were really happy when we picked you up and she's your afternoon teacher. She's really great with you and lets you play and do all kinds of things. She even got you to smile at her. That really made Mommy feel a lot better talking to her. She gives you a report card at the end of the day so that Mommy and Daddy will know all about your day. We were really relieved to see that this was a much easier transition than we expected. Mommy and Daddy were also able to have "date-day" so that made the day go by a little faster. It was my last day off work, so we went to play golf, out to lunch, and did a little shopping to pass the time. It was really good for us. I'm so glad that you are such a happy, laid-back little baby because you love everyone and that means you don't cry when we leave you with strangers. We love you so much and are so proud of our little "man"!

First Easter

Your first Easter was great! You got to get all dressed up in big boy clothes (khakis, button-down shirt, and sweater). That was more fun for Mommy than you. You also got some great Easter baskets with some books, clothes, toys, and lots of other goodies! Next year you will be going crazy hunting Easter eggs. You got to visit with lots of your family and they all loved to hug on you. Thank you for being such a good boy and making every holiday so much more special for so many people. I can't wait to be able to tell you the Easter story, so that you'll understand that this day isn't about hunting eggs, but something much more important! We love you so much, honey!

Like father, like son

This shirt was your daddy's when he was a baby. Your grandma Kathy found it and a sweatshirt and some toys in a box of daddy's stuff. And thanks to your Uncle Scott (the amazing dry cleaner), you are able to wear both shirts without showing off your daddy's nasty stains! They look better than new. We were so excited to have this adorable vintage Hog shirt. And since you are your daddy made over, it's even more fun to see you in this. Go hogs Go!!! Maybe you will bring them luck next season!

Two months old!!!

Well, you're two months old! I can't believe how big you've gotten. You weigh 12 lbs, 14 ozs and are 23.5 inches long! Such a big boy. You have really started holding your head up...as you can see from the picture. You don't really like tummy time that much, but we try to only do a few minutes at a time until you get used to it. You do really like to sit up though. You've grown a little more peach fuzz on the top of your head...I guess you won't look like a bald man forever! You have really started noticing your surroundings more. You are fascinated by your hands at the moment and really trying to figure out how to get them in your mouth. You are eating about 6 ounces at a time now. You normally wake up at about 2:30 a.m. and then not again until about 6am. So that will be good when I go back to work in a few weeks. I'm so proud of all that you are doing. You really seem to be progressing like normal babies do so that's always a relief! I love you honey....mommy!

Thanks Aunt Rita!

Thanks Aunt Rita for Drew's really great "Drew" hat. It's still a little big, but it's so cute!

Daddy really wants you to be a little boy that likes to wear hats like he does, so he was very excited about this one! You are getting so big everyday. I can't believe how much different you look than just 8 weeks ago. I hate it, but I really am loving how much you change all the time!!!
