4 MONTHS OLD!

Well, you are 4 months old today! I cannot believe it has already been that long. You have changed so much since then! You don't have your well baby check-up until next week, so I don't know your measurements yet, but I'll do another post for that stuff! Here are all the new things you've started doing in the last month. You are finally beginning to get the hang of sucking on a pacifier. You don't really have to have it all the time...just when you are sleepy or a little fussy and you are finally able to hold it in your mouth a little better. We don't have to do it for you nearly as much! You have rolled over from your tummy to your back a few times in the last week. You have also started tucking your knees underneath you when you are on your tummy like you are getting ready to crawl and you hold yourself up so much better! You like playing on your tummy more and actually move around and try to play with stuff. You are eating 7 ounces every 3-4 hours and hopefully we'll be starting you on some rice cereal next week when we go see Dr. Laura. Mommy is too nervous to start it on her own. I want her to tell me what to do and when to do it! You are definitely ready to start eating though because when you watch us eat you have started mimicking our mouth movement and pretending to chew. It's very cute! You are also smiling, laughing, and "talking" all the time now. We can make you smile just by looking at your or laughing at you. You always wake up in the morning and tell us all about your night. You have also started giving Daddy sugars...when he gives you sugars he always makes a funny noise and you've started doing it too. When he says "give me sugar" and leans in close to your face, you open your mouth and kinda growl like he does. It's so adorable! You get a really big kick out doing this and usually end up laughing!

Needless to say, Drew...we absolutely love your brains out! You are so much fun and make us look forward to every single minute of the day. I always thought I would really look forward to you playing outside or playing baseball or something, but now I know I will be so sad to see you grow up that much. Don't get me wrong, I am so excited to see what you will do and who you will become, but I just want you to grow up slowly!!! Daddy and I pray every night that God will lead us in becoming the kind of Christian parents you need to teach you how to be a good person and to love and respect everyone. We want to be able to help you grow up to love God and trust in him as much as we do.

Happy 4 month bday little guy! We love you very much!

Weekend Mornings

I have to write an entry about how we have been spending our weekend mornings because they have become a highlight of Mommy and Daddy's lives. Our favorite time is when Daddy doesn't have to work on a weekend day and we all wake up together. Usually you wake up a little earlier and we put you in bed with us for a few hours. You are so sweet and cuddly...I can totally understand why people let their babies sleep with them for years! Then when we all decide to get up, we go into your room and after you have a clean diaper, we play for a few hours. Sometimes Daddy will drink coffee and read the paper in your rocker while Mommy plays with your clothes (I am always wanting to put new clothes on you) and you play on your tummy on the floor with Belle. It's so fun just hanging out in your room laughing and watching you learn to do new things. You are starting to roll over from your tummy to your back occasionally...Daddy finally got to see it this weekend. These special times have really shown us how much we love "family time" and we look forward to spending either a Saturday or Sunday morning doing this every weekend. I know we won't have many more of these before you don't want us in your room anymore, so we are trying to get all the good out of it that we can!

Love you bubba!

For your Grandma Kathy

This entry is especially for your Grandma Kathy. She just got back from a trip to Texas to visit her really good friend and she brought you back this fabulous romper! Razorback Red and all...even though she considered getting Longhorn Orange, but she thought better of it!!! Thank you so much for his adorable outfit...and he has already worn it several times!

She also made Mommy an incredible quilt that she's been dying for! I gave her all my old Pi Phi t-shirts and she made me a quilt out of them and it's even better than I expected. It's so soft and comfy and I love it! She gave it to me for my birthday/Mother's Day gift. She's really good at that kind of stuff and I bet someday she makes you a quilt.

BUZZ BQ

We took you down to the NLR side of the River to the Buzz-B-Q last Saturday (my birthday). It is a BBQ contest that people enter and get judged on. The Buzz radio station puts it on and this year all the drink money went to the NLR Firefighters Union, so me and Daddy helped sell drink tickets. It was really fun. We took you down there with us all day so you got to hang out outside for a while finally. And your friend Walker Wilson was down there too, so y'all had fun baby talking to each other. While we were sitting there, a photographer for Outontherock.com came up and wanted to take your picture for the website. It's a website that has pics of all the things going on in the Little Rock area and so you got to be on there! You were very sleepy, but also very adorable!!!
Thanks for making mommy's birthday and 1st Mother's Day so fun. You and Daddy are the best boys in the world and I love you very much!

JIMMY BUFFET CONCERT!

Drew, most people have a "to-do" list of things they want to accomplish in their lives before they die. Daddy and I have accomplished several important ones already (graduate, get jobs, get married, have a baby, etc.). Those are the most important ones, but you will also have other items on that list that fall under the entertainment category (things you want to see, places to go). Daddy and I had one major entertainment item in common...GO TO A JIMMY BUFFET CONCERT! And as of two weeks ago...we were able to cross that one off our list. It was the most amazing concert experience of either of our lives because we love his music so much and it was everything we expected it to be. We saw him at Pizza Hut Park (the soccer arena in Frisco, TX). It was awesome because it was outside and it had just started being warm enough for it to be fabulous outside at night. He played tons of great songs...old and new. We were in Parrot-head Heaven! We stayed with my Aunt Dee and my cousin Davis and went to the concert with them, my aunt's best friend, and her new special friend, Randy (by the way, for those of you who care...he's an incredible guy!) We had a great time tailgating with them and met up with our Little Rock Parrot Head friends Lori and Rob and the rest of the crew and got to experience the RV side of tailgating which is a whole different story. I just wanted to put this in your blog, so we could remember this and tell you about it someday. When you get older if he comes this close again, we will definitely dress you up in your phinest parrot-head attire and let you experience it for yourself!

P.S. Erin, we were going to try to come and see you and Chris and Connor, but the weekend was crazy and we weren't going to have enough time for a good visit. Plus, I know you are still having morning sickness and I didn't want to make you pretend to feel good...I remember how hard that is! I love you and will see you soon...we're probaby coming back down there before the summer is over!

Olivia Lee is finally here!!!

Well, Mindy finally had Olivia...she was actually a few days early, but Mommy has been waiting forever for her to get here (not as anxious as Mindy and Ryan of course)! She was born on Friday, May 4 at 11:59am 7lbs, 1 oz. She's so beautiful and Mommy can't wait to meet her and introduce you. Mindy has been one of my best friends for so long now and I'm so glad that she is joining me in the new motherhood club. Now we have yet another thing in common...except she's got a girl and I have you!

So congrats Ryan and Mindy Kerber on your new angel! We love her already!

Your first playdate

Well, you had your first playdate on Saturday. Mommy went to Searcy to Kelly & Mac's house with Ashley and Wade and we did some reunion planning. And Mac (the baby) and Wade (the big boy) were both there for you to play with. You've been around Wade before...he was actually the first person other than Mommy that you smiled at. You think he's hilarious and he likes to make you laugh and smile. He was really good with you and entertained you for quite a while until you both got bored!

The other adorable little man in these pictures is Mac. You are only 2 weeks older than him, but since he was a preemie, he's a little smaller as you can tell. You look like gigantic baby compared to him. We thought it was funny so we had to lay you down next to each other. Mac is still a little more sleepy than you so not much playing with him yet, but it won't be long until you are both chasing after Wade and driving him crazy! The mommies had a great time watching all of you and talking about all the things mommies talk about. I'm so happy to be in that club!
