We're still here!

We are all still here, but I have been very lazy about posting! I have a lot to get caught up on and plan to work on those posts over the next few days! In there meantime, here are a few pictures of our cute boys!

Beach Mini-Golf with the Greens

When we were in Gulf Shores, we were super excited to find out that some of our friends from home were going to overlap our trip by a few days. So we met up for dinner at LuLu's and some mini-golf and go-carts. It was a much needed break from our vacation because Drew absolutely adores Abby Green and he was so glad to have a friend to play with!

Beach Trip 2010

Not sure why I haven't posted these pictures yet...not sure what's wrong with me! Oh wait...life with 2 boys!!! Anyway, these pictures are from our trip to Gulf Shores in September. We went by ourselves...just the 4 of us. And whether that was a good idea or not, we survived. We survived Davis having a serious stomach virus and having like 10-12 dirty diapers a day...and because of this he was extremely needy. If he saw me, I had to be holding him or he would throw a gigantic fit. We survived Drew becoming bored with us and not having anyone to play with. We survived sleep deprivation that put all 4 of us on edge, but we managed to have a great time anyway! We drove through the night and woke the boys up to go through the tunnel, and got to the condo at 2:30am Saturday. We decided to do this because Davis is such a bad car-rider and it was easier if they slept the whole time. Here are the fun things we did. We ate at LuLu's twice, hunted for crabs, played in the awesome kiddie pool, mommy & Davis shopping day, Daddy & Drew beach day, bubbles at the Hangout, mini-golf with the Greens, relaxing on the beach during naptime (Brian and I alternated days), listening to the waves at night, watching BP sweep the beaches for oil and making the sand super soft, playing in the waves, burying each other in the sand, etc. It was definitely a memorable trip and I am so glad we did it even though it was pretty stressful at times.

Shooting Star Drew

Drew you were a shooting star at school today. That means that you have gotten enough behavior stickers to be rewarded. The 2, 3, and Pre-K kids all sit down lining the halls and sing a little song while you stand on a star in the middle. Then they spell your name out while you walk in a little parade and you get to run super fast to me or daddy. It's so cute and we love watching you do that. Luckily Daddy and I were both able to be there today and then he and I snuck off for a yummy lunch date at Gadwall's. We were so proud of you baby!

now for the pictures

Happy Birthday Davis Poe

Davis,

I can't believe you are a year old. It seems like just yesterday that we were coming home from the hospital to our new normal of life with 2 boys. As you can tell from my lack of blogging...life is crazy for us with you and Drew. It's so fun, but definitely loud. You don't have your one year old doctor visit until later this month, so I'll post your stats then, but here are some things you are doing as a one year old:
  • super fast crawler
  • pulling up on furniture and walking around as long as you have something to hold onto
  • eating anything we give you. you aren't picky at all!
  • you have 8 teeth..4 top and 4 bottom (you like to use them if you don't get your way)
  • sleeping better (for now)...just in the last week you've actually slept through the night a few times.
  • getting ear infections...and tubes on the 20th
  • loving your big brother...you think Drew is the greatest thing in the world!
  • talking up a storm...you can say momma, dadda, bubba, hi, and bye. sometimes it sounds like you say drew-drew
  • you love to wave at people and just do it randomly sometimes
  • you love to be outside more than anything
  • you can make a car noise when you are "driving" cars with Drew
  • you are learning to sign "more" ,but it doesn't really look right...gets the point across though

More than anything, you are precious. Not the easiest baby in the world because you want me to hold you ALL THE TIME, but we love you so much and you add so much joy to our lives. Your smile is contagious and so is your belly laugh. It melts my heart when you want to sit with Drew or lay your head on him. You love to give kisses...and an occasional bite. When you get really excited to see someone your whole body shakes and jumps. Thank you for making our little family seem complete. We can't wait to see what the next year brings for you with learning to walk, talk, run, play, etc.
