Future firefighter?

We took you to the firestation today to show you off! All the guys thought you were really cool. They all have kids too, so they were glad to welcome daddy to the club. He was so proud of you! You were such a good boy. You only woke up for a minute, but you didn't even make a noise. Then when we were leaving I just had to take your first picture on the fire truck. I'm sure this is just the first of many trips to see daddy at work!!!

Welcome home, Drew!

I just thought it would be fun for you to see what your house looked like when you came home for the first time! We'll be here a long time I'm sure, but you never know!!!

When we got here, we noticed this huge stork in the front yard! It is really cool...it has your name on it and your birthday and how much you weighed.
We had no idea who did it until Todd and Melissa Ezzi owned up!
We absolutely love it! Thanks you guys! Y'all are great friends!

Another fun thing waiting for you when you got home was your little doggie, Belle! We missed her so much while we were in the hospital with you for 3 days. We knew she liked babies and kids, but we weren't sure how she would feel about having one around all the time! But she walked right up to your carrier and sniffed you and from then on she's been hooked. She sniffs on you every time you cry and she really seems to be used to you. The funniest thing to me is that you have never even flinched when she barks. Not even when it's really loud. I guess you must have heard her from inside my belly. They say you recognize your mommy and daddy's voices, so you must recognize hers too!

William Andrew Poe

Well, we welcomed our new adorable son into the world at 7:58am on Monday, Jan 22, 2007. He was 8 lbs, 13ozs, and 19 1/4 inches long. He has fuzzy blonde hair and blue eyes (for now). He's so perfect and beautiful...of course, I'm his mom, so I'm biased! My c-section went great and I'm moving around just great. I was lucky from what other people have said. I've just had a little soreness and had to take it slow every now and then, but no serious pain. Drew is a very good sleeper and eater. We have to wake him up to feed him at night. Brian is the best daddy in the world. He does all the parental duties that I do...feeding, changing diapers, getting up in the night. Everything, he's a wonderful, loving, hands-on daddy! We just want to say thank you to all the people who have come to visit and prayed for everything to work out okay. It's been just perfect. We are so excited to have our little boy here finally!

Tomorrow's the big day!!!

Well, tomorrow's the big day!!! We go in at 6am for my C-section. Drew never turned (the doctor didn't think he would), so we're going to cut him out! Brian and I are really excited...and I'm glad it's planned because now everyone can be there. It's nice to know we will have so many people praying and thinking about us. We've been doing some last minute cleaning around the house and packing our stuff. It's wierd to know that we'll leave tomorrow and come back in about 3 days with a baby! Stay tuned to the site and we'll get some pictures uploaded as soon as we can. I guess this is probably the last blog before I start doing everything as Mommy!!!

C-Section

Well, we found out that Drew is breech, so we'll be having a c-section at 7:30am on Monday, Jan 22. I'm really pretty excited! I wouldn't have chosen to do it this way, but I do like having everything all scheduled. That way our families can be there and no one will be hurrying to make it in time. Assuming he doesn't decide to come early that is! That leaves us only 11 more days to be single and free! What will we ever do with out time? I have one more doctor's appt on Tuesday and then it's just waiting until he gets here! Wish us luck!

Christmas 2006

Well, this is our last Christmas just me and Brian. That is so wierd and exciting all at the same time! We had a really wonderful one and are so blessed to have such amazing family and friends. Drew got tons of great clothes and toys, so I can't imagine how crazy next year will be. This was also our first year with Ashley in the family. Since she and Ben got married in June, this was their first Christmas together and it was a blast for all of us. Her family celebrates on Christmas Eve, so we were all still able to be together for Christmas Day. That doesn't usually happen for people, so we were really excited. And Brian was off work for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for the first time in 4 years. I'm really lucky to have such an amazing husband and family. We all have such a blast together! Merry Christmas Everyone!

Drew's Room

Here are the pictures of our nursery. I know some of you have been waiting forever to see them! Sorry I've been so lazy! My amazing Aunt Dee made our bedding and the curtains. And my equally as amazing Aunt Susan helped fund the project! Isn't it all so adorable! We couldn't have asked for a better Christmas present! So now, Drew's room is all ready. We even have stuff all washed and put away just waiting for him to get here! Not much longer!!!
