5 months old...already?!

It's hard to believe that you've been our baby for 5 months. Time definitely flies when you are having fun, and we've never had more fun than we've had with you. You have changed so much. You are eating rice cereal now, and you really seem to like it. You are smiling, laughing, and talking all the time. You are even starting to laugh like a big kid when you get really tickled. That usually happens when someone else is really laughing hard. You are starting to reach for things a lot more and everything still goes straight for your mouth. If Belle isn't paying attention to you, you "yell" at her to get her to come over to you...you even reach out to hug her most mornings. It's so cute and she really likes to lay beside you and lick you. You have started actually playing with your friends when you see them. You like to watch the older ones and try to mock them. You are sitting up a little bit...you have to be a tri-pod and lean on your hands, but you balance pretty well. You are starting to try to crawl. You don't get up on your hands and knees yet, but you like to push off things and try to move forward to get a toy (you push off our hands or feet for resistance and move your legs like an army crawl). You love it when we read to you and are paying attention to all the colorful pictures. You are playing with toys now, so that's been fun for us. But it makes me want to buy everything at Target and Wal-Mart for you! Your face still lights up every time your Daddy walks into the room. You get really excited when you hear his voice after he's been at work. It's so cute!

I love this stage, but it also makes me miss your little newborn stage too. I guess that's what it's all about for parents...loving every new stage, but hating it that you grow up so fast! I wish I could bottle up a little of every stage so I could experience it later in your life. But oh well...that's what pictures, video, and blogs are for, right?

Drew,
You've really made mine and Daddy's life so much more special just by being in it. We love watching you grow into a little boy. You are so sweet and caring already that I can't wait to see what you will become. We promise to do everything we can to teach you how to live your life respecting the Lord and respecting people. We love you so much and are so proud of you!

Love, Mommy
