Singing in church

I didn't take any pictures of Drew singing in church, but I did have to snap a few before we left. He looked so handsome. He wore his big boy church clothes...a tie, white button down, khaki pants, and a belt. He looked like such a little man. He did great singing "My God is So Big" in church. He sang the words and did the motions, but added a few of his own. He liked to throw in a full body fist pump occassionally and it was a crowd favorite! Everyone laughed and thought he was so cute! Love that boy!

Ms. Trudi and Ms. Keisa

Well, we are sad and happy all at the same time. Drew's Ms. Trudi got married a few weeks ago. It was such a beautiful, joyful wedding. We were so happy to get to go. We went with the Callahan's so Drew and Taylor got to hang out too. They are some of Ms. Trudi's babies and they even got to take their pictures with her. Ms. Keisa and Ms. Lisa were both in it so Drew had his picture taken with all his ladies! Since she got married and her hubby lives in Georgia, she and Ms. Keisa are moving. So Drew and Davis are both going to lose their teachers. But we are really happy for them in this new stage of their lives. We will just miss them a lot!

Our sweet boys

Drew loves to hold Davis and feed him and read to him. He loves being around him and is so proud of him. I love it! It's so cute to see how much they already love each other and just really makes my heart happy!

2nd round of snow days

We had some more snow days this week and we actually played in the snow this time. We threw snowballs, built a snowman, and had a big time. We bundled Davis up in snow clothes, blankets, and a hat and put him in the stroller in the garage so he wouldn't be cold.

Davis is one month old

Well Davis, you are one month old...actually 6 weeks at this point. I can't believe it! We went to your well baby check up today and you got your 2 month shots since we are pretty close to that and Dr. Laura is going on maternity leave next week. You are 10lbs, 13 ounces and 22 1/2 inches which is in the 50% range for 6 week olds. You are such a sweet big boy! You still have quite a bit of fuzzy blonde hair and blue eyes. You are eating about 4 ounces every 2.5-3 hours. You've just started to smile a little bit which is really fun for us and especially for Drew. You love it when he lies down next to you and talks and laughs. You turn your head so you can see him any time you hear his voice and kick your legs and swing your arms. He gets so excited! You move your eyes to follow us and are really cooing a lot more. You sleep pretty well at night...3-4 hours at a time. You are pretty fussy during the day...we think you have a little problem with gas, but Dr. Laura thinks it will get better soon. We are really loving every minute of having two boys around the house! It's so fun! You and Drew are so wonderful and have made our lives amazing. We love you so much!

Snow Day

Well, since Davis had just gotten out of the hospital, he didn't get to play in his first snow. But Drew did. Unfortunately the snow we got came in the middle of two layers of ice, so you couldn't really make a decent snowball. But Drew had fun bundling up and marching in the icy snow and listening to it crunch.

Poor Baby Davis

Well, we had our first hospital stay with Davis (or Drew for that matter) about a week ago. He started running fever last Monday and with newborns that's never a good thing. He ran 100-100.5 that day so I took him to the doctor on Tuesday. They ran all kinds of tests on him...catheter for urine cultures, RSV swab, chest x-ray, bloodwork, etc. Then he got an antibiotic shot and we went home with the hopes that would knock out the fever and it was just a virus. Well, it didn't go down and even reached 101 Tuesday night. We went back to the doctor on Wednesday and they did bloodwork again and did a spinal on him to try to get some spinal fluid to test for menigitis. But they weren't successful extracting any fluid. We had to take him to Baptist-Springhill for some IV medications and fluids for 48 hours while we waited for all the test results. He was such a trooper while they did all those tests and then spending two days with an IV in his hand and getting poked on and temperature taken every two hours. The nurses were great and we were lucky because the RN when we got there was a friend of Brian's from high school and the daytime RN both days was a friend's mom. So we were well taken care of. We found out that the bloodwork came back negative, but there was an extremely high level of Staff in his urine. So much that the doctors think his catheter must have been contaminated when they ran the tests because his fever went away with his IV meds and they weren't the kind of meds that would've treated Staff. But we still have to go to Children's Hospital in a few weeks to have some more tests run on his kidneys and bladder to test for some urinary problems. Nothing serious, but still...a hassle. Dr. Laura is pretty sure he just had some kind of virus but with little ones you want to rule out really bad stuff. Needless to say, he was a big time trooper and is feeling much better now. Poor sweet boy!
