Good little sleeper!

Since you were about 10 months old you've been sleeping in our bed because you just wouldn't go back to sleep easily in the middle of the night...and because we were too tired and lazy to make you! When we went to the doctor for your 1 year old check up, she told us to focus on getting you weaned off the bottle and eating good and then to work on the sleeping issue. So the weaning went really easy...took you off the Saturday after you turned 1 and you never looked back. The eating was a little harder since you were determined to only eat crackers and bread for the rest of your life, but you finally gave in and starting eating more table food...even chicken tenders and ham, so we're happy with that. So last Saturday while Daddy was at work, I decided it was time for you to move back into your bed permanently. So following my friend Katie's advice that the Ferber method (crying-it-out) worked...I tried it too. I put you in your bed after two stories, prayers, and an explanation period and you cried for 11 minutes and I went in one time to pat you and lie you back down. Then you went to sleep waking up two times and putting your self back to sleep. The next 3 nights were about the same and now you are only crying about 2-3 minutes and not waking up until about 6am. So for now...WAY TO GO! I realize that by blogging about this I'm probably jinxing it, but i had to brag on my boy! I didn't realize how tired I was until I started getting real sleep! Love you baby! And I miss our cuddle times, but that's what Saturday and Sunday mornings are for right?!

What a difference a year makes!

I thought this would be a fun post because of how different you look from Valentine's Day last year to Valentine's Day this year. Both pictures are so fun and adorable and I remember how cuddly you were in that outfit! I dressed you in all the time until it finally got way too tight! My mom and daddy gave that outfit to you and daddy's mom gave you your shirt this year, so that's fun too! I can't believe how much you have changed in only a year. It makes me sad and happy at the same time! You are growing up so fast and we love every minute of it!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had the pleasure of keeping Mattie for a few hours on Valentine's Day while her mommy ran errands. So you had a little date...well one that slept most of the time! I thought these pictures were so cute of the two of you. You are always wanting to give her kisses and she's started giving them back. So you just pass your cold germs back and forth, but we don't mind since it's so adorable!

Fireman PJs

You look like such a big boy in this picture. You are wearing your big boy pajamas that Grandma Kathy got you and you are sitting in the chair all grown up! I don't have to worry about leaving you on the couch or chair or even the bed anymore because you can get down all by yourself. I love these pjs because they look like some that my grandaddy used to wear. The button up kind. So adorable.

Silly Boy!

I thought these pictures said it all about you these days. You are so funny and you get the biggest kick out of yourself. You are getting into everything and climbing like a monkey on chairs, stairs, Belle, whatever in order to get something you want. You laugh hysterically all the time and it's very infectious. Even when I'm upset with you...if you start laughing I can't help myself!

P.S. Check out those adorable teeth!

Mardi Gras in Arkansas

We spent Saturday night celebrating Mardi Gras with the Huffmasters and their friends Jared, Nancy, and Reagan. So Drew got to play with Luke and then met a new love interest-2 year old Reagan. She's a blond cutie pie that he followed around like a puppy. As you can tell, he loved the beads! They dug into a King Cake to find the Baby Jesus which Reagan found. They had lots of fun playing with beads, noise makers, masks, etc. Thanks to Michael, Michelle, and Luke for inviting us over!

Drew and his cousin Nevaeh

I thought these pictures were absolutely adorable! Drew finally met his cousin, Nevaeh, a few weeks ago. She's Brian's cousin's little girl and she's beautiful and sweet and funny! They are about 6 months apart and they had a lot of fun playing at the baby shower...there's now another sweet little girl that we need to meet that was born last week.
