Brian and I were so excited to get to see Jimmy Buffet last Saturday!!! We made this same trip the summer after Drew was born and thought it would be fun to do the same thing after Davis was born. Lucky for us, Deedee lives in Frisco right down the street from the soccer stadium where the concert is. So we save a ton of money on a hotel room...making it much easier to budget for tickets and the trip itself. We got to see Erin and her babies on the way, so that made it fun too. Drew and Davis spent the weekend with Grandma and Grandaddy and had a total blast. We were able to tailgate with Scott, Callie, Brian, and Sara so that was fun. The concert was great of course. Brian and I both love Buffet and have since we were kids. I love that we are bringing up a 3rd generation of Parrotheads. It melts Brian's heart when Drew asks him to turn on "the pirate song." Unfortunately when we got out of the concert, I had a bunch of missed text messages and calls saying that my grandaddy had a heart attack. So that shortened our fun and our trip by several hours. We jumped in the car, went back to Dee's for some quick showers, and got on the road for Sherwood at midnight. We knew Grandaddy would be fine until the next day, but wanted to be home earlier so we could pick the boys up. We knew my parents would need to go to the hospital on Sunday. So after an exahausting drive, we made it home around 5:30am. But everything is fine now...after a new and improved pacemaker and defibrillator Grandaddy is at home resting comfortably. But it was still a fantastic post-baby trip. Hopefully this will become a yearly pilgrimmage now!
