God has always loved you...this is just his first public kiss!

Davis,

Easter Sunday was such a special day for our family. Not only was it special because we were able to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus, but you were baptized in Waypoint. We go to NLR FUMC to the Waypoint service (non-traditional). We absolutely love it and all the people in it. We have really found such a wonderful church family there with a lot of young families with kids the same ages as ours. The pastor is Leon Gray and he's fantastic. He's interesting, funny, and lovable. So needless to say we were very excited for all our friends to be there for your baptism. You were baptized alongside another baby, Jonah Campbell. His parents are very nice and we hope that you guys grow up to be good friends. We were very happy to have a lot of our family there to celebrate this important day in your Christian life. Grandma, Grandaddy, the Jennings family, Uncle Muscles and Ashey, Mimi, Pop, and the Wheeler family. Our corner was kind of rowdy, but we wouldn't have it any other way! We stood up in front of the church with the Campbells and Leon explained about our way of baptizing...the sprinkle! Then he had both families repeat the vows and the congregation too. After that he took you and Jonah together around the congregation and talked to both of you about all the people sitting there. Talking about how these are the people that will be your Sunday School teachers, choir teachers, mentors, friends, and watch dogs. You were both just looking at him and everyone else and didn't cry or anything. It was so precious to watch. He also says something during baptism that always makes me tear up...quoting a friend of his he says, "God has always loved you...this is just his first public kiss." I think that really sums up the way our faith looks at God and baptism and faith. We are really looking forward to you growing up in this church alongside Drew and really learning how to love the Lord and let his Light sign through you so that others may know him too. Daddy and I made a promise to teach you and Drew all that we can about God and faith and love and we really hope that some day you will have a wonderful relationship with him too. We love you angel and were so happy to share this special event with everyone!
